Transformative 25 Paid Internship – July 2023 – February 2024 

A part-time (25-30 hours per month) opportunity to learn about and contribute to a program promoting social justice investing to transform finance for people and the planet.

In 2021, Integrated Capital Investing launched The Transformative 25, a list of 25 social justice funds seeking integrated capital from foundations, investors, and individuals. The T25 list aims to educate and uplift funds seeking to provide access to non-extractive capital and support for entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and businesses that traditional finance does not support.

Now in its third year, the Transformative 25 (T25) recruited a team of 19 volunteer reviewers from across sectors (philanthropy, non-profit, registered investment advisors, financial activists among others) to provide a unique resource for capital providers seeking to learn and gain inspiration from fund models reimagining capitalism for regenerative, restorative social justice outcomes. Groups like Seed Commons, Native Women Lead, and Black Farmer Fund are a few of the funds highlighted through the T25 reports, webinar series, and blog postings.

Join this team led by Jennifer Astone, principal of Integrated Capital Investing, to contribute to this social justice investment program. Put your communication, organizing and social media skills to work while you learn about social entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and impact investing.

Experience and Skills – No prior financial experience is necessary. Enthusiasm for the T25 approach, social justice, and a desire to promote and communicate with a wide range of people from across the U.S. and internationally are necessary. Communication (writing, editing, social media), graphic design, administration (excel, emailing, posting) are essential. Familiarity with Eventbrite, Linked in and Twitter are preferred. Ability to commit 4-6 hours per week.

Job tasks include

  • Create graphics in Canva or another program for webinars
  • Advertise the T25 webinar series via Eventbrite, Linked In and social media
  • Source and finalize bios and resources page for each webinar and support webinars
  • Share webinar recordings with participants and post to the website
  • Edit and post T25 Funds blog postings
  • Survey and facilitate the T25 funds networking and resource needs
  • Analyze the survey and compile results for recommendations
